Our client is developing an innovative Self Service BI tool built on MicroStrategy and Teradata with a strong emphasis on query performance. One of the novel ideas deployed is the use of a multi tiered warehouse arrangement. We need a highly motivated contract Teradata architect to help optimize the middle tier by leading architecture, design, and query optimization tactics. The ideal individual will be able to think out of the box and pursue good ideas all the way from poc to production.

Key requirements:

-Expertise in designing, building, and managing multi-terabyte analytic environments.
-Working knowledge of the design considerations warranted for Microstrategy is a plus.
-Ability to work in a highly dynamic organization – one that is deliberately light on process and fast paced
-Strong experience with Teradata tools and utilities including SQL,
-B-TEQ, fastload, mload, fastexport, t-pump, SQL Assistant, TSET, T-BAR, Visual Explain, TASM and system management capabilities.
-Solid scripting skills is a must with fluency in Unix environments.
-Excellent personal communication, leadership and organizational skills.
-Awareness of the latest database technologies and strategies
-Teradata Design Architect certification would be a plus
-Minimum 3 years working as a Teradata Architect
-BS in computer science or related field required, MS preferred
